Blog Again

So I have been shamed over and again to repost. So here it is - But if you are expecting anything profound, you'll be sadly disappointed yet again, as it is late in the evening and I have very few brain cells functioning. It's usually late in the evening before I can turn to trivial pursuits - besides, I keep hearing stories of employees who are fired because their bosses deem blog posts to be offensive - insert whiny noises here....."Your free speech might hurt someone's feelings" My oh my what have we come to. Are we really so spoiled and wimpy that we can't handle disagreement? Believe me there is plenty of disagreement in this country whether or not you choose to acknowledge it.
I did feel compelled to blog on Katrina..... but I simply have had no words. The hurricane was as bad as I thought it would be. The evil that followed on the streets was unimagined. The unbelievable ineptitude of the local, state, and federal response was unconsciable. The destruction is nearly more than I can bear. The story is changing rapidly and heads will roll. Hard. Which heads depends on whether anyone cares anymore about truth. Do we? Or do we just need a convenient scapegoat? Even if he had zero experience and no rational reason to have the job, he's a scapegoat nonetheless. I'd much rather those actually responsible have a meeting at the unemployment line. And is that even really enough? In the meantime, lets all shut up and care for the sick and the homeless, the orphan and widow. Donate money - donate time - donate materials - give love. Shut up the hatemongers who would create racial strife by giving sacrifically.
